Today’s new word is “xylazine.” We think we’ve started to learn about fentanyl. Now we must learn about xylazine-fentanyl mix.

Delta 8 THC Part 2
To understand the process of making Delta-8 THC from CBD, vocabulary and several chemistry processes should be understood. Cannabinoids, Isomerization, chemical reactions, acidic hydrolysis, isomerization, and distillation. Perhaps isomerization is the key concept. In brief, here’s what the terms mean in the laboratory.
Cannabinoids: Cannabinoids are chemical compounds found in the cannabis plant. CBD (cannabidiol) and delta 8 THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) are both cannabinoids.
Isomerization: Isomerization is the process of converting one chemical compound into another by rearranging its atoms. In the case of delta 8 THC production, it involves the conversion of CBD into delta 8 THC.
Chemical reactions: The production of delta 8 THC from CBD involves several chemical reactions. These reactions include acidic hydrolysis, isomerization, and distillation.
Acidic hydrolysis: Acidic hydrolysis is a chemical reaction that involves breaking down a compound using an acid. In the case of delta 8 THC production, it involves the use of an acid to break down CBD into its constituent parts.
Isomerization reaction: The isomerization reaction involves converting CBD into delta 9 THC and then further into delta 8 THC by rearranging the atoms of the compound.
Distillation: Distillation is the process of separating the components of a liquid mixture based on their boiling points. In the case of delta 8 THC production, it involves separating the delta 8 THC from other compounds present in the mixture.
Additional vocabulary will be addressed as we proceed in this blog series. Enjoy!
