Cicero Award of Excellence for 2011, for demonstrated effectiveness and distinction in my field (American Biographical Institute)
1. Courage Under Fire award for political activism, from SAFER and SENSIBLE Colorado.
2. Martindale-Hubbell AV and Preeminent Lawyers (highest possible rating) attorney rating.
3. My big horn sheep photograph appeared on the cover of the June 2007 Colorado Lawyer, the monthly publication of the Colorado Bar Association. (This is the LARGE photo file. I'll post the pdf of the cover in a more manageable size once the magazine is published)
4. I've also sat on lead guitar with The famous Boulder Fornikators, with Patrick and the Dinosaurs, and with a number of other bands over the years in various states. During the NORML Legal Committee conference in Aspen, June 2006, I played with Jimmy Ibitson (formerly of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band) both on the patio of the Woody Creek Tavern, and the following afternoon at Owl Farm, home of the late Dr. Hunter S. Thompson.

2. Chair, 2004-2005, 2005-2006 , Criminal Law Section, Colorado Bar Association. After serving for four years, including one as vice-chair, and two as chair, Lenny "retired" from this council in late 2006 to permit him more time to write, and to devote to his clients.
3. Colorado Criminal Defense Bar Board of Directors (completed a two year term ending June, 2001, and elected to a new term starting June, 2003) I am a Life Member of the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar.
4. Colorado Municipal Judges Association, Board of Directors (completed a two year term). Currently a presenter ongoing legal education.
5. Boulder Criminal Defense Bar, Immediate Past Chair (having served as Chair from 1996 to 2004).
